Job description

The Renewal Team Director operates as a vital entry point and public face of the entire organization. This role is designed for a highly relational, charismatic "professional extrovert" who thrives on meeting new people and building bridges across diverse networks. Positioned at the intersection of the community, local businesses, and churches, the Director acts as our primary brand ambassador. Their central mandate is to "sell" the concept of community—convincing the community at large of why prioritizing relationships is essential.

The Director leads the recruitment, education, and strategic engagement of individuals who commit to becoming "Renewal Team" members. By cultivating an inclusive environment across all social, financial, and political boundaries, they serve as a unifying force dedicated to creating a deep sense of belonging.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Face of the Mission: Actively network within the business sector, faith communities, local churches, and civic groups to elevate the organization's profile and message.
  • Selling Community: Articulate a compelling narrative to external audiences regarding the measurable and intrinsic value of being community-minded.
  • Dynamic Event Hosting: Design, coordinate, and host high-visibility community events—specifically the Circle of Caring—to strategically invite new individuals, leaders, and partners into our expanding network of care.
  • Boundary-Crossing Connection: Comfortably navigate and build authentic relationships across the entire social spectrum, uniting disparate financial, political, and cultural groups under a shared vision.
2. Recruitment & Core Engagement
  • Lead "Renewal Team" Onboarding: Design and execute proactive strategies to attract, recruit, and officially commit new members to the "Renewal Team".
  • Relationship Management: Act as the primary, long‑term point of contact for new members, providing continuous support and communication to maintain their momentum and long-term commitment.
  • Intake Pipeline Control: Manage the initial entry experience, ensuring that every individual new to the work of community feels welcomed, seen, and structurally integrated.
3. Education & Skill Equipping
  • Curriculum & Content Creation: Develop creative, engaging educational resources and workshops that practically illustrate how to live out a community-minded, relational lifestyle.
  • Collaborative Educational Spaces: Partner directly with the Coordinators to establish and facilitate shared forums, training sessions, and interactive spaces for neighborhood education.
  • Capability Building: Equipping raw passion with tangible community-building skills, transforming new sign-ups into confident, active community advocates.
4. Cross-Departmental Coordination
  • Volunteer Transition: Maintain a close, seamless relationship with the Volunteer Coordinator to systematically transition highly motivated Renewal Team members into specific volunteer roles across the organization.
  • Strategic Alignment: Coordinate with program leads to ensure external recruitment messages match internal capacities and ongoing site initiatives.
Essential Qualifications & Traits
  • The Extrovert Factor: A genuine passion for meeting strangers, remembering faces, and building instant, authentic rapport. High social stamina is non-negotiable.
  • Public Speaking & Hospitality EQ: Exceptional ability to command a room, tell a story, and make attendees at a Circle of Caring event feel individually valued and safe.
  • Professional Experience: 3–5 years of verified success in fields requiring heavy relationship-building, such as community organizing, public relations, high-level corporate sales, church mobilization, or nonprofit development.
  • Mission Alignment: Deep personal resonance with the concept that "relationships matter" and an unshakeable belief that community connectivity fixes systemic isolation.
  • Organizational Discretion: Ability to manage a diverse, wide-reaching external network with the discipline required to maintain internal tracking, reporting timelines, and database inputs.
