Job summary

DNV GL USA, INC. seeks an Energy Engineer to support design, integration, commissioning, and optimization of utility-scale energy generation and storage projects in the Austin area.

You will work with project managers, utilities, EPC contractors, and equipment vendors to ensure reliable integration between plant assets and utility operators. You will drive engineering and commissioning for solar, BESS, and hybrid facilities; integrate SCADA and PPC systems; analyze interconnection requirements

Responsibilities

• Drive engineering and commissioning activities for solar, and BESS, and hybrid energy facilities.
• Execute the integration of SCADA and Power Plant Controller (PPC) systems.
• Analyze utility interconnection requirements and grid compliance standards.
• Review and validate electrical studies including load flow, short circuit, and reactive power analyses.
• Coordinate communications between inverters, meters, relays, and plant control systems.
• Execute and oversee testing and commissioning activities in accordance with project requirements.
• Develop technical documentation, FAT/SAT procedures, engineering reports, and client deliverables.
• Troubleshoot operational issues involving controls, telemetry, and plant performance.
• Participate in field commissioning and utility witness testing.
