Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineer – Renewable Energy in Chicago to join our Renewable Energy Team. You will develop fit-for-purpose civil designs for permitting or construction, coordinating with PMs and leads to deliver on schedule and budget.

You will lead design teams, ensure QA/QC, manage scope, schedule, and deliverables, and mentor staff while contributing to client proposals and knowledge sharing. This role requires IL PE license and 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Illinois or surrounding states.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil systems, design software, and standards.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver design outputs on time, within budget, and aligned with project scope.
• Lead multidisciplinary design teams and provide QA/QC oversight.
• Define technical delivery approach, resources, and execution plans.
• Coordinate design interfaces with procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Mentor staff, contribute to proposals, bids, and client-facing materials.
