Job summary

Clemens Food Group is seeking a Rendering Operator to support our rendering department. The role requires safe operation of equipment to process pork by-products into usable materials, aligning with our sustainability and food safety goals.

Starting rate is $24/hr, with a 1st shift schedule of Monday–Friday, 3am–12pm, in Hatfield, PA. Responsibilities include operating cookers and conveyors, managing truck loading, sanitation, and using iPad-based HACCP tracking.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand English.
• Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Willingness to work overtime and some Saturdays.
• Comfortable working in hot and cold environments.
• Experience with HACCP or sanitation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate rendering equipment such as cookers, dryers, presses, mills, blowers, conveyors, and pumps.
• Manage truck loading, tanker sanitation, and yard truck movement for weighing/loading trailers.
• Use touchscreen controls, buttons, and switches to monitor systems.
• Perform cleaning/sanitation duties including tank washing and trash removal.
• Execute Lockout/Tagout procedures for setup, teardown, and light maintenance.
• Maintain HACCP compliance and safety documentation with iPad.
• Work safely at heights up to 60 feet to clean silos and pipes.
• Handle pork offal as part of raw material processing.

Description

Position Summary:
Clemens Food Group is seeking a dedicated Rendering Operator to support daily operations in our rendering department. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of equipment used to process pork by-products into usable materials, supporting our sustainability and food safety goals.

Starting Rate - $24 /HR

Schedule - M- F 3am-12pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment such as cookers, dryers, presses, mills, blowers, conveyors, and pumps
• Manage truck loading, tanker sanitation, and yard truck movement for weighing/loading trailers
• Use touchscreen controls, buttons, and switches to monitor systems
• Perform cleaning/sanitation duties including tank washing, trash removal, and chemical handling
• Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for setup, teardown, and light maintenance
• Maintain compliance with HACCP protocols using an iPad for product safety and quality tracking
• Work safely at heights up to 60 feet to clean silos and pipes
• Use forklifts (PIT) and potentially low boys for material handling
• Handle pork offal (e.g., heads, blood, guts, hair) as part of raw material processing

Required Qualifications:

• Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
• Proficient in basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Must speak, read, and understand English
• Willingness to work overtime and some Saturdays
• Not afraid of heights; must work on silo platforms (approx. 60 ft)
• Experience or willingness to learn chemical and high-pressure hose use

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in food production, sanitation, logistics, or mechanical roles
• Familiarity with LOTO, HACCP, and industrial cleaning procedures
• PIT certified or prior forklift operation a plus
