Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Renal Specialist Level I to identify the needs of dialysis and apheresis patients through comprehensive assessment and to plan and delegate care accordingly. You will evaluate patient responses and progress toward outcomes, maintaining accountability for overall patient care in a busy renal unit.

Qualifications

• Nurses must be graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Alabama or multistate Nursing license required.
• ICU and/or dialysis experience preferred.
• Call is required for communication with the Dialysis Unit Charge Nurse.

Renal Specialist Level I

The Renal Specialist Level I will identify the needs and priorities of the dialysis and apheresis patient through assessment. The Renal Specialist Level I plans and delegates care based on patient needs. The Renal Specialist Level I evaluates the patient’s response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes. The Renal Specialist Level I is accountable for outcomes of patient care of assigned patients.

Qualifications

Education required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

License, Certification and/or Registration: Current Alabama or multistate Nursing license required.

Experience: ICU and/or previous Dialysis experience preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Responsibility of the Dialysis staff to give supporting documentation for Renal Specialist II to the Dialysis Unit Charge Nurse. Call is required.
