Job summary

Ditmas Park Dialysis Center seeks a Registered Dietitian to support patients’ nutrition during dialysis. You will create individualized plans and collaborate with the care team to improve outcomes and quality of life.

Ideal candidates have RDN credentials and experience in dialysis or clinical nutrition, with strong renal and geriatric nutrition knowledge and excellent patient education skills.

Qualifications

• RDN credential required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for dialysis patients.
• Develop and implement individualized meal and supplement plans based on labs and patient needs.
• Monitor and adjust plans based on patient progress.
• Educate patients and families on kidney-friendly diets and feeding options, including enteral nutrition.
• Collaborate with nephrologists, nurses, social workers and staff for holistic care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to care planning.
• Stay updated on renal nutrition best practices and standards of care.
• Provide mentorship to staff on nutrition-related practices.

Ditmas Park Dialysis Center is seeking a Registered Dietitian to support our patients’ health and well-being.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our care team and patients to provide individualized nutrition plans that make a real difference in treatment outcomes and quality of life.

Position Overview

As a member of our care team, you’ll play a key role in helping patients maintain optimal nutrition throughout their dialysis treatment. The ideal candidate will bring both clinical expertise and a patient-first approach, empowering individuals to achieve better health and improved quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for dialysis patients.

• Develop and implement individualized meal and supplement plans based on labs, clinical needs, and patient preferences.

• Monitor and track patient progress, adjusting plans as needed.

• Educate patients and families on kidney-friendly diets, weight management, and feeding options including enteral nutrition.

• Collaborate with nephrologists, nurses, social workers, and other staff to deliver a comprehensive care approach.

• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care planning.

• Stay up to date with renal nutrition best practices and evolving standards of care.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to staff on nutrition-related practices.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.

• Previous experience in dialysis or clinical nutrition preferred.

• Strong knowledge of renal, geriatric, and chronic disease-related nutrition.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient education and motivation.

• Ability to perform nutrition-focused physical assessments and tailor interventions accordingly.
