Job summary

Global Impact Group LLC in the United States is seeking Yoruba Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Yoruba is a priority language for asylum, refugee, and immigration cases.

You will provide real-time Yoruba-English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews and hearings, maintain confidentiality and neutrality, and participate in training. Remote work is offered on USCIS-approved platforms with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Yoruba and English.
• 2+ years of professional interpreting experience.
• Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and neutrality.
• Excellent telephone communication and composure under pressure.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/5 federal clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time Yoruba English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and immigration proceedings.
• Ensure interpretations are accurate, impartial, and culturally appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality in compliance with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
• Support both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.
• Participate in compliance training, quality audits, and professional development.
