Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an accomplished Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist II to support the Northeast region. This role offers a hybrid schedule from Parsippany or Boston offices, or a fully remote setup from eligible US states, including Maine.

You will manage multi‑party claims, assess liability, verify coverage, and drive timely resolutions with a customer-centric approach. Preferred candidates have 4+ years in workers' compensation, strong negotiation skills, and knowledge of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with 3+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance area.
• Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 2+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance area.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance area AND
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s).
• Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets and products.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Responsibilities

• Document claims file by accurately capturing and updating data in compliance with best practices.
• Exercise judgement to determine liability by gathering facts and applying applicable law.
• Assess damages and establish range of damages allowed by law.
• Negotiate settlement within authority limits and appropriate strategy.
• Meet quality standards by following best practices and procedures.
• Maintain customer service by proactive communication and responding to inquiries.
• Manage expenses by working with vendor networks and outside contractors.
• Refer claim to subrogation and fraud teams when appropriate.
