Job summary

Apricot is seeking a Web Designer to launch a new ecommerce and membership website for a mobile yarn shop client. You will design a mobile-friendly site, create core pages, and set up a product catalogue with 50–75 items, multiple payment options, and shipping/pickup.

A paid member area with videos and tutorials will be established, with private hosting for initial videos. The project is urgent with a target launch between late October and early November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mobile-friendly websites, preferably ecommerce.
• Experience configuring online stores with catalogues, payments, shipping and inventory.
• Experience building paid membership areas with videos and downloadable content.
• Ability to set up private video hosting and allow non-technical clients to upload content.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a mobile-friendly ecommerce and membership website.
• Create core pages: Home, About, Shop, Tutorials, Blog, Contact.
• Set up product catalogue with 50–75 initial products.
• Configure payments (credit cards, PayPal, Apple/Google Pay, Venmo).
• Enable shipping and local/event pickup options.
• Implement sales tax handling per client needs.
• Create paid membership area for videos/courses/downloadables.
• Host ~10 videos at launch with room to add more.
• Enable client to upload/manage content independently.
• Set up inventory management for direct client updates.
• Add newsletter signup and social links.
• Ensure domain redirects to primary site.
• Work with brand assets and content provided by client.
• Build mobile-first, accessible site; evaluate platform options (exclude Shopify, consider Square).
• Test post-launch and provide basic ongoing support.
