Job summary

Travere Therapeutics in San Diego, CA, is seeking a VP, Controller to lead the global accounting function. You will report to the CAO and advise the CFO and Board on GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls, shaping the controllership vision and operating model across the company.

This role partners with Legal, Tax, FP&A, IT and others to drive finance transformation, M&A support, and robust financial systems, while building a high‑performing team and ensuring timely, transparent reporting.

Qualifications

• CPA license required with deep expertise in US GAAP and SOX.
• 15–20 years of accounting/financial reporting or controllership experience, including leadership roles in publicly traded biotech/pharma.
• 8–10 years of leadership experience within a finance function.
• Experience leading accounting and SEC reporting for a public biotech/pharma company.
• Big Four public accounting background strongly preferred.
• Experience evaluating, implementing, and optimizing ERP/financial reporting systems.
• Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, licensing, financing and post‑acquisition integration.
• Experience operating in a Sarbanes‑Oxley control environment.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration with Legal, Tax, FP&A and IT.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and automation in Finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Company's accounting organization, including close, technical accounting, SEC reporting, inventory and COGS, financial systems and internal controls.
• Oversee consolidated financial statements for domestic and international operations.
• Oversee all SEC reporting activities and regulatory filings.
• Lead technical accounting research and US GAAP position papers.
• Monitor new accounting standards and implement pronouncements.
• Oversee foreign subsidiaries, intercompany transactions and currency accounting.
• Support M&A, licensing, financing activities and post‑acquisition integration.
• Partner with Legal, Tax, FP&A, IT and other leaders on accounting treatment and governance.
• Lead Finance transformation, ERP optimization and automation initiatives.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing accounting team.
