Job summary

Mars is seeking a Scientific Services Veterinarian in Texas (Austin and Houston) to travel extensively (50–75% including overnights) while working remotely from a home office when not traveling. The SSV will elevate Royal Canin’s brand by educating veterinarians, KOLs, and hospital staff and by partnering with field teams to drive diet recommendations and market growth.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD with active license in at least one state.
• 3 years’ veterinary practitioner experience with internships/co-ops/residency preferred (small/companion animal).
• Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote).
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and work remotely when not traveling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Field Sales Teams to educate key recommenders and drive market share across the region.
• Grow nutrition category sales by leveraging relationships with specialty referral hospitals.
• Support strategic accounts and participate in high-impact events to advance the Royal Canin veterinary diet business.
• Develop and nurture a network of KOLs to support veterinary operations and marketing initiatives.
• Deliver nutrition education to veterinarians, technicians, and hospital staff.
• Foster business growth through collaboration with regional and strategic account sales teams.
• Provide technical expertise and represent Royal Canin at conferences and events.
• Offer nutritional case consultations to partners and clients.
• Adapt territory coverage and travel to meet business needs.
• Support field-based teams and perform additional duties as assigned.
