Job summary

E-Typist, Inc. is seeking a Verbatim Court Transcriptionist for a fully remote contract role. You will transcribe court proceedings, trials, and depositions from audio recordings, maintaining verbatim accuracy and proper speaker identification.

Candidates should be familiar with QA procedures, colloquy formatting, and legal terms. AAERT certification is preferred; a skills assessment will be required; compensation is paid per page, with flexible hours and a 1–3 day turnaround.

Qualifications

• Proven experience transcribing court proceedings, trials, and depositions.
• AAERT certification is preferred.
• Ability to distinguish Q&A and colloquy and apply formatting.
• Proficiency with transcription software and Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to complete a skills assessment.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe court proceedings, trials, and depositions with verbatim accuracy.
• Identify speakers and apply court formatting rules.
• Ensure QA standards and clarity per colloquy guidelines.
• Manage 1-3 day turnaround with 1.5–2 hours of audio daily.
