Optum is a global health services leader hiring an Utilization Management Nurse to review patient records and craft defensible appeal letters using templates and data extraction.

This per diem role offers telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. with HIPAA compliance, collaboration across Optum, OPAS and clients, and development opportunities. RN license required and 3+ years bedside nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree.
• Unrestricted RN license in your state of residence.
• 3+ years bedside nursing experience in ED/telemetry/ICU/CCU.
• Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft applications and software.
• Ability to type 45 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Compose appeal letters with data extraction and well-written content using templates and references.
• Adhere to HIPAA confidentiality requirements and company policies.
• Support OPAS, Optum, and enterprise goals and missions.
• Build relationships across Optum, OPAS, OGA and clients to ensure delivery.
• Maintain quality and productivity, participate in meetings, and stay current with required licenses.
