Job summary

HM Insurance Group is seeking participants for the Spring 2027 Underwriting Undergraduate Internship. This part-time, remote program runs for 12 weeks starting February 1, 2027, and offers exposure to underwriting operations, risk assessment, and financial analysis within healthcare.

Interns will learn data-driven analysis, forecasting, and competitive decision-making while supporting ongoing underwriting activities and project work. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with colleagues, clientele, and other stakeholders in planning assignments and resolving day-to-day problems.
• Under supervision, provide entry-level professional services as appropriate to day-to-day objectives with guidance from senior staff.
• Undertake and participate in projects designed to develop professional skills and expertise.
• Participate in planning and implementation of unit projects and initiatives within area of expertise.
• Conduct research and reporting inclusive of recommendations or alternative proposals for action.
• Undertake related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the operating unit.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
