Job summary

Jobgether partners with a government-oriented team to hire a UI/Accessibility Expert - Front-End Tech Lead in the United States. You will lead front-end engineering, establish technical standards, and enforce accessibility across Angular, SASS, and HTML, while advancing design systems such as USWDS.

You will mentor developers, drive CI/CD improvements, and collaborate with Java teams to deliver secure, accessible digital solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Front-End Tech Lead or senior front-end engineer.
• Expert-level proficiency in Angular, SASS, and HTML.
• Hands-on experience with design systems, especially USWDS.
• Formal accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS).
• Experience conducting accessibility testing using automated tools, screen readers, and keyboard navigation.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, deployment pipelines and best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with Java backend teams and integrate APIs.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and code-review experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical docs.
• Understanding of government security standards for handling sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for the front-end codebase, establishing architecture and standards.
• Develop and maintain high-quality front-end components for staff-facing MIUI screens.
• Enforce USWDS usage and state design system standards across the project.
• Define and oversee accessibility strategy, ensuring WCAG 2.2 AA, 508, and Title I/II compliance.
• Conduct accessibility assessments using automated tools and screen readers.
• Lead code and design reviews, mentor developers, promote engineering practices.
• Improve and optimize front-end CI/CD processes and deployment pipelines.
• Identify architectural gaps and propose front-end roadmap improvements.
• Collaborate with Java backend teams to integrate APIs/services.
• Create and maintain technical docs, architecture decision records, and guidelines.
• Apply secure development practices per government security standards.
