Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking an Operational Test Remote Pilot to support evaluation of the J208 aircraft integrated with Superpilot human-on-the-loop autonomy. You will operate the Ground Control Station during uncrewed flight evaluations and collaborate with developmental engineering teams to channel operational data and user feedback into product updates.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, GCS proficiency for Group 3+ uncrewed aircraft, ability to obtain US

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aviation, engineering, or related field with 4+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience operating Ground Control Stations (GCS) for Group 3+ uncrewed aircraft.
• Active US Security Clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance post-hire.
• Willingness and ability to roughly 50% domestically (CONUS) and internationally (OCONUS).
• Part 61 Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the J208 Ground Control Station (GCS) during human-on-the-loop autonomous operational evaluation flights.
• Ensure operational compliance with mission plans, airspace clearances, and ground procedures during remote flight activities.
• Demonstrate GCS functions and autonomous flight capabilities to prospective and current civil and military customers.
• Document system performance and partner with developmental engineering to communicate software and workflow refinements.
• Participate in pre-mission setup, link verification, and post-flight debriefings.
• Travel up to 50% domestically and internationally in support of CONUS/OCONUS evaluation deployments.
