Job summary

CSG Talent is seeking a Flight Dynamics & Controls Engineer for a remote UAS contract. The role focuses on developing and evaluating flight control and simulation capabilities for unmanned aircraft, integrating flight dynamics, control design, and practical software development.

You will build and refine models, run simulations across varied flight conditions, and analyze performance to recommend improvements. A PhD and strong MATLAB/Simulink/Python skills are required; C++ is a plus.

Qualifications

• PhD in aerospace engineering, controls or related field is required or strongly preferred.
• Practical experience with aircraft flight dynamics and control system design is required.
• Experience developing or assessing controls for unmanned aircraft is preferred.
• Strong MATLAB, Simulink and Python skills are essential.
• Experience with guidance algorithms, fixed-wing or rotorcraft modelling, or C++ is useful.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine aircraft dynamics and control models.
• Develop and assess flight control and autopilot functions.
• Run simulations across different flight conditions and investigate unexpected results.
• Analyse performance and recommend improvements.
• Document your methods and findings for the wider engineering team.
