Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking a Texas-certified teacher to join its Live Learning Platform as a remote tutor. You’ll bring classroom expertise to flexible, online tutoring, setting your own schedule and earning competitive rates.

All sessions are conducted from home. As a Texas Certified Teacher, you’ll connect K-12 concepts to student goals, align with TEKS standards, and adapt instruction to each learner’s needs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, active Texas teaching certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
• Deep knowledge of your certified subject area, with the ability to connect K-12 concepts to student needs across grade levels.
• Experience in a Texas classroom setting with an understanding of TEKS standards and how to apply them in one-on-one instruction.
• Skilled at diagnosing student gaps, adjusting pacing and approach, and explaining concepts through multiple methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept on-demand tutoring requests and adapt to student needs based on availability.
