Job summary

Whirlwind Steel Buildings and Components seeks an experienced Drafting Detailer to join the team remotely. Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical degree in drafting or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the metal building industry.
• Professional experience using Tekla Structures is required.
• Strong reading of architectural, structural, and engineering drawings; attention to dimensions, tolerances, and connections.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed fabrication and erection drawings for metal building systems using Tekla Structures.
• Develop accurate 3D models, shop drawings, assembly drawings, and detail drawings based on project requirements and engineering documentation.
• Review drawings to identify dimensions, specifications, connections, and detailing requirements.
• Ensure drawings reflect design requirements, material specs, and manufacturing standards.
• Coordinate detailing with engineering, manufacturing, and project management.
• Revise drawings per engineering changes and customer requirements.
• Verify dimensions, material quantities, and critical details for accuracy.
• Prepare clear drawings communicating fabrication and installation requirements.
