Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Project Analyst to support a fast-paced federal technology program. You will own day-to-day program controls, maintain trackers, and surface risks for the TPM. Ideal candidates are fluent with IT terminology and can translate technical work into clear status and actions.

The role emphasizes charting, reporting, and documentation across multiple workstreams, with strong emphasis on Excel, SharePoint, and 365 tools. Remote within the United States is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience) in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, Management, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Certifications: PMP, CAPM, CSM, SAFe, or similar are preferred but not required.
  • Clearance Required: Public Trust
  • Experience in project/program coordination, PMO support, program operations, or business analysis in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and information streams with strong organization and follow-through.
  • Hands-on experience maintaining program artifacts such as action/deliverable trackers, risk/issue and decision logs, and schedules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including translating technical discussions into clear actions, owners, deadlines, and dependencies.
  • Familiarity with IT delivery concepts (Agile/SDLC) and comfort working alongside technical teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting), SharePoint, and collaboration tools.
  • Sound judgment on when to act independently, gather more information, or defer to leadership; communicate with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain program trackers for actions, decisions, risks/issues, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables using standard templates.
  • Monitor schedules and commitments across multiple workstreams; elevate overdue or at-risk items.
  • Incorporate changing priorities and new requirements while keeping commitments on track.
  • Proactively follow up with internal teams and subcontractors for status and deliverables; drive items to closure.
  • Support customer coordination within appropriate boundaries.
  • Escalate matters requiring program judgment to the TPM.
  • Prepare agendas and materials for meetings; document decisions and owners.
  • Draft and assemble status reports and executive materials for review.
  • Maintain tracking and reporting solutions in Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365; identify automation opportunities (Power Automate).
