Job summary

Jak + Co. is expanding our Colorado team and seeks a remote Tax Senior to support Denver-based clients while leveraging the resources of a Minnesota-based CPA firm.

The role focuses on organizing and coordinating tax data for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and S corporations with minimal guidance from senior tax professionals. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in public accounting, a 4-year degree in accounting (or a Master’s in taxation), strong English communication, and CPA/EA

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in public accounting demonstrating progression in complexity of auditing, accounting tasks and tax knowledge.
• 4 year degree in accounting, or Master’s degree in taxation.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Licensed CPA or EA or in process with CPA/EA exam; member in good standing with AICPA and COCPA if licensed.

Responsibilities

• Performs diversified accounting, auditing, and tax assignments under supervision of a manager, director or partner.
• Reviews tax information submitted by client for completeness and communicates questions.
• Prepares individual and business returns of various complexities.
• Prepares amended returns and depreciation reports as needed.
• Directs staff accountants and assigns work based on capabilities.
• Prepares invoices for clients.
• Represents firm professionally in business-related functions.
