Job summary

Polished Talent Group is seeking Remote Tax Preparers to assist clients with federal and state income tax returns. This is a remote, commission-based position with full-time and part-time opportunities.

Prior tax prep experience is preferred but not required; training is provided. Candidates must complete required tax preparation training, maintain client confidentiality, and follow IRS due diligence standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
• Must have an active IRS PTIN or be willing to obtain one before preparing returns.
• Must complete required tax preparation training before preparing client returns.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual federal and state income tax returns.
• Collect and review client-provided tax documents.
• Enter tax information accurately into professional tax software.
• Review completed returns for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate with clients regarding missing or additional documentation.
• Maintain organized and accurate client records.
• Protect confidential taxpayer and financial information.
• Follow IRS requirements and due diligence standards.
• Complete required training and compliance requirements.
• Maintain professional communication with clients and team members.
• Market your tax preparation services and grow your client base through networking and referrals.
• Build your own book of business by developing long-term relationships with returning clients.
