The role includes preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, entities, and estates, plus tax planning and client management. The ideal candidate has 7+ years public accounting experience, active CPA or EA license, and strong knowledge of various tax returns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or related field.
• Active CPA or EA license required.
• 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of individual, S corporation, partnership, estate, and trust taxation.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Form 1041 estate and trust income tax returns.
• Strong tax research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with Lacerte/QuickBooks Online is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex individual, business, estate, and trust income tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120-S, 1065, 1120, 1041).
• Manage and review returns for individuals and entities.
• Prepare and review estate and trust income tax return projections.
• Manage multiple client engagements with proactive communication.
• Research federal/state tax issues and provide planning opportunities.
• Review financial statements and tax basis accounting.
• Mentor staff and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Assist with workflow planning and engagement profitability.
• Stay current on federal/state tax law changes and communicate updates.
