Job summary

ASME in Livingston, New Jersey, seeks a detail-oriented Tax Analyst to support federal, state, local, and international tax reporting, research, and compliance. You will assist with filings, data validation, and process improvements while collaborating with internal teams and external advisors.

The role requires 2–4 years of tax experience, a relevant degree, strong Excel skills, and excellent communication. Remote work options are available, with periodic travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in federal, state, local, and/or international tax.
• Knowledge of U.S. tax reporting and general taxation principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and support of federal, state, local, and international tax filings, including Forms 990, 990-T, 4720, 1120, 5471, and indirect tax filings (VAT/GST/sales tax).
• Collect, organize, and validate financial, investment, and operational data required for tax compliance and reporting.
• Maintain workpapers and documentation supporting tax filings and reporting activities.
• Process tax payments, refund requests, and filing logistics.
• Research routine tax issues and summarize findings with supporting documentation.
• Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities.
• Support indirect tax registrations and reporting activities.
• Provide research support to Accounting, AR, AP, Legal, and other internal stakeholders.
• Assist with presentations, meeting summaries, agendas, and action items.
• Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and AI-enabled efficiencies.
• Support audits, financial statement disclosures, and special projects as assigned.
