Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a Tax Accountant for a remote role based in Birmingham, AL. The position focuses on tax preparation and advisory services for individuals and businesses, with opportunities to expand into estate, succession, and retirement planning.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of tax experience, strong tax knowledge, and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Office, and UltraTax is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (MBA preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of tax preparation experience.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and research skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, Ultra Tax.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual, LLC, S corp, and C corp tax returns
• Communicate with clients and tax authorities
• Provide high-quality tax services and strategic financial advice
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced, cloud-based environment
• Contribute to client acquisition and business development efforts
