Job summary

LASST, a fully remote nonprofit, invites law students and legal professionals to join the Summer Fellowship for 10 weeks of immersive work at the intersection of law, technology, and global risk prevention. Fellows will conduct applied research, shape strategy, and build networks through external briefings and a NYC in-person co-working session in July.

Open to incoming 2Ls or higher, including recent graduates and practicing attorneys with an interest in biotechnology governance and AI policy.

Qualifications

• Incoming 2Ls or higher, including recent grads and practicing attorneys.
• Creative, collaborative, proactive, and able to work independently or in a small team.
• Interest in biosecurity, AI safety, or science & technology policy is a plus.
• Experience with LexisNexis, Asana, and Slack is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Applied Research on biotechnology and AI governance.
• Shape LASST’s advocacy agenda and potential litigation approaches.
• Attend external briefings and conferences; participate in an in-person co-working session in NYC in July.
• Produce a major deliverable (white paper or legal memo) for external or internal use.
