Job summary

ICON plc is seeking a Study Start Up Associate II for a home-based role in Spain. You will lead site start-up activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with internal teams, CROs and TAU partners to activate sites and drive SSU metrics.

The role requires 2+ years in SSU, a BS degree, and strong organization and data-driven decision skills. Proficiency in MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• BS degree or international equivalent.
• 2+ years of Site Start Up experience in pharmaceutical industry or related field.
• Ability to explain data to facilitate decision making.
• Knowledge of clinical study protocols and essential documents.
• Strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead site start-up and activation activities.
• Collaborate with internal Study Startup team, CROs, Clinical Operations teams, and TAU partners to improve SSU metrics.
• Ensure standards are applied to SSU processes across projects.
• Review site essential documents for start up (e.g., ICF, CVs).
• Identify and escalate potential site activation delays.
• Track actions and communications with sites to meet study timelines.
• Support resolving escalated issues with CROs and Clinical Operations teams.
• Review and feedback on site performance metrics.
• Ensure accuracy of eTMF during start up.
