Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering is required.
• Professional licensure or eligibility for licensure is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in joist or building design.

Responsibilities

• Design and check building components, steel joists and metal deck per contract documents.
• Verify deck specifications based on contract requirements.
• Create designs using CAD software and other tools; redesign for economy and profitability.
• Review drawings and drafting for completeness and loading conditions; produce shop fabrication documents.
• Coordinate with project managers and customers to meet shop schedules and requirements.
• Communicate issues with design team and field personnel; maintain professional relationships.
