Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Streaming Data Engineer to architect, deploy, and operate large-scale Kafka and Confluent environments for mission-critical workloads. This remote U.S.

role requires deep Kafka internals knowledge, strong DevOps practices, and collaboration across product, design, and operations teams. The ideal candidate will own the platform end-to-end, including sizing, security, automation, and observability, while mentoring junior engineers and raising engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years operating Apache Kafka or Confluent Platform in production.
• Deep knowledge of Kafka internals (partitions, replication, ISRs, consumer groups).
• Strong experience with Kafka security (SASL, mTLS, ACLs, RBAC).
• Hands-on with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and Kafka Streams or ksqlDB.
• Experience with HA/DR strategies for Kafka.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Infra-as-code: Terraform, Ansible.
• Observability tooling for Kafka.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and operate large-scale Kafka and Confluent environments.
• Own the Kafka platform end-to-end including sizing, configuration, security, automation.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, operations, and stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code/design reviews.
• Maintain observability and developer enablement for streaming workloads.
