Job summary

Outlier seeks Statistics experts to train AI systems with rigorous analytical prompts and to evaluate AI responses for statistical accuracy. You will help frontier AI adhere to the highest standards of quantitative reasoning while working fully remotely on a flexible schedule.

We offer a 1099 contract with hourly rates up to $150, paid via PayPal or Airtm. Work from home or while traveling, with access to leading AI tools and an opportunity to contribute to real research in a global setting.

Qualifications

• PhD in Statistics or adjacent field is required.
• Experience as statistician, data scientist, or in a highly technical analytical role.
• Ability to write clearly about Statistics in fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Teach AI how to interpret and solve complex quantitative problems.
• Assess factuality and relevance of domain-specific text produced by AI models.
• Craft and answer questions related to Statistics.
• Evaluate and rank domain-specific responses generated by AI models.
• Write or edit prompts to seed AI training and testing.
