Job summary

The Staff Pharmacist at The Cigna Group interprets prescriptions, contacts prescribers and patients to verify information and expedite processing. This remote role requires licensure in AZ, IN, FL, OH, or TN and preferably within an hour of local sites.

The position begins 10/19/2026 with an 8–10 week training period. Training hours are 9am–5:30pm ET, then regular consult shifts vary by state with occasional evenings and Saturday rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is required; PharmD preferred.
• Current active resident pharmacist license in good standing.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with other departments.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.
• Strong focus on customer service, quality and accuracy.
• Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines.
• Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
• Flexible schedule for peak volume times.
• Remote work eligibility with reliable broadband.

Responsibilities

• Consult with patients regarding the use of medications and interactions.
• Contact physicians for new and/or transfer authorization and verify prescription details.
• Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generics when possible.
• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians.
• Back up other pharmacists and train less experienced staff.
