Job summary

Good Samaritan Society is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to administer evaluations, diagnose and plan treatment for clients with speech and swallowing disorders. The role includes developing individualized plans and providing therapy across post-acute, long-term care and home health settings where applicable.

The incumbent will document according to department guidelines, follow professional practice standards and may supervise staff.

Qualifications

  • Education level as per state licensure requirements.
  • Licensed in the state(s) as Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers within 60 days.

Responsibilities

  • Administers speech and language evaluations, tests or examinations and plans treatments.
  • Provides speech-language services and monitors progression; adjusts treatments as needed.
  • Instructs clients in therapeutic exercises and provides consultation; ensures standards and quality requirements are met.
  • May supervise assistants, aides and students; participates in ongoing education within areas of expertise.
