AuraOne is seeking a Software Engineer, Internal Platforms on a remote contractor track. You will review production code, reproduce outputs in sandboxes, and write tests to surface model gaps. This role pairs engineers with the modeling team to grade outputs for correctness, style, and edge cases.

Your work includes writing minimal failing tests, documenting failures, and ranking paired solutions with clear rationales. Remote role in the US with contractor terms and flexible weekly hours.

Qualifications

• Strong day-job engineering experience with reading, running, and debugging unfamiliar code.
• Ability to write concise unit tests that capture a single failure mode.
• Familiarity with a testing framework (pytest, Jest, JUnit, Go test, RSpec, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Run and reproduce candidate code outputs in a sandboxed environment.
• Grade cloud & platform engineering solutions for correctness, style, and edge-case handling.
• Write minimal failing tests that demonstrate a model output bug.
• Compare paired solutions and rank them with a rubric-based rationale.
• Tag failure modes (compile error, runtime crash, off-by-one, security issue) with severity scores.
• Document recurring code-generation failures for the modeling team.
• Calibrate against gold-standard reviews to maintain high inter-rater agreement.
