Job summary

Ultra in Charleston, WV is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement and test software components in a Linux/DevOps environment. The role emphasizes C++ or Java development with UML design and collaboration with IT/infrastructure teams.

You will work in a flexible, hybrid setting with opportunities to grow in embedded systems, Sonar product lines, and enterprise Linux configurations. This role offers a dynamic team and evolving projects in a security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• Skilled in C++ or Java development.
• Some experience of UML design.
• Some experience of IT infrastructure, Linux configuration and installation.
• Red Hat SA1 and SA2 certification would be beneficial
• Some experience with DevOps technologies would be an advantage
• Some experience with pipelines, Conan and Gradle could be a bonus

Responsibilities

• Software design using UML
• Contribute to infrastructure design and configuration of Linux offerings
• Software implementation in C++ or Java
• Integration, defect analysis and resolution
• Development of assigned testimonies and responsibilities in a backlog
• Periodic verbal reporting of progress and contributing to sprint planning
• Research of Linux configuration or overall performance issues
• Working with IT and Infrastructure team members
