Job summary

Fractal Analytics is seeking an experienced Snowflake/DBT Engineer with a strong AWS focus to join our remote-first team. You will build and optimize Snowflake-based data architectures, integrate with AWS services, and drive CI/CD for data pipelines using Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• Ability to write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and user-defined functions.
• SQL optimization for performance and efficiency.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools including Snowpipe, AWS Glue, Fivetran or similar.
• Proficiency in transforming data within Snowflake using SQL; Python is a plus.
• Expertise in AWS data services relevant to Snowflake workloads.
• Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and IaC tooling (ARM, Terraform).
• Strong understanding of data security, compliance and governance.
• Experience with DBT for modeling and provisioning.
• Version control experience, especially Azure DevOps.
• Good documentation and coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Snowflake data warehouses and schemas.
• Build robust CI/CD pipelines for data assets using Azure DevOps and IaC tooling.
• Optimize Snowflake virtual warehouses for performance and cost efficiency.
• Leverage Snowflake data sharing and integration features for collaboration.
• Develop complex SQL scripts and data transformations; write UDFs when needed.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business teams to meet requirements.
• Model data with dimensional schemas to support reporting and analytics.
• Ingest data from diverse sources including APIs and cloud services.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across pipelines.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline issues in Snowflake.
