Core Specialty is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to assess and manage risk for surety bond applications. Based in Texas, Georgia, or Florida, you will evaluate financial strength, analyze terms, and make decisions to protect profitability.

You will lead underwriting efforts, collaborate with brokers, and guide junior team members. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of surety underwriting experience, strong analytical skills, and deep knowledge of surety bond principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in surety underwriting or related field.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate surety bond applications to determine risk levels and terms.
• Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and documents to assess applicant stability.
• Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to gather information for bond risk analysis.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, agents and industry professionals.
• Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters or team members.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, underwriting practices, and competitors.
