Databento is seeking a midlevel to senior Site Reliability Engineer to own uptime, performance, and observability for our data platform. You’ll influence reliability practices and help scale petabyte-scale processing and billing systems.

You will work primarily remotely with teams across major markets, applying Python performance optimization, containerized deployments, and OS-level debugging to reduce latency and costs. This is a fast-growing fintech data company with a strong remote culture.

Qualifikationen

• Full-time experience in SRE, DevOps, or backend engineering, preferably in trading tech or high-growth startups.
• Hands-on work with observability tooling for logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Experience with containerization and high-availability deployment (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong Python proficiency for app development and performance optimization.
• Linux debugging and profiling skills (strace, perf, eBPF, ss, gdb).

Aufgaben

• Own uptime, SLAs, and SLOs across API and platform services.
• Set reliability best practices for developers without slowing them down.
• Build and maintain observability across logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Design and run high-availability deployment and containerization strategies.
• Profile and optimize Python applications for throughput and latency.
• Debug production issues down to the OS level using debugging tools.
• Improve deployment and CI/CD workflows.
• Join on-call rotation and lead incident response.
