Job summary

Revolution Space, a leader in advanced space propulsion, seeks a seasoned Software Systems Engineer to drive full lifecycle development from requirements through verification. You will bridge hardware and software, enhance usability, and coordinate testing, debugging, and cross‑functional collaboration.

The role is full‑time and remote. The ideal candidate has a 10+ year background in computer systems engineering, strong OS, networking, and MBSE experience, and is capable of obtaining a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 10+ years of relevant experience in computer systems engineering
• Strong skills with operating systems (Linux, Windows Server)
• Knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure (TCP/IP, DNS)
• Familiarity with verification and validation processes in aerospace/high-reliability industries
• Working knowledge of requirements management tools (MS Excel, DOORS, or equivalent)
• Strong communication and documentation skills with cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance or ITAR compliance (U.S. Persons required)

Responsibilities

• Bridge hardware and software functions
• Design software-intensive systems with scalable and secure architectures
• Integrate software components with hardware
• Review test plans, debugging and troubleshooting
• Document and review system designs and workflows
• Develop scripts to improve automation and performance
• Oversee creation of software simulators and system emulators
• Maintain system requirements for space hardware interfaces
• Support MBSE initiatives and verification evidence
• Provide technical support during flight operations
• Participate in technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and gate reviews
