Job summary

Kentro is seeking a Solution Architect V to lead as the principal architect on the FAA ATLAS modernization program. You will translate enterprise direction into portfolio target states, drive standards, and collaborate with FAA leadership to deliver cloud-native, secure, scalable solutions.

The role requires strong experience in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and DevSecOps, with a focus on governance and strategic guidance across a large portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and architecture
• Demonstrated ownership of enterprise architecture and target-state strategy
• Expert knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methods
• Proven track record leading large-scale digital transformation or modernization
• Deep expertise in cloud architecture across major providers (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Strong data architecture, modeling, migration, and governance experience
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, and secure pipelines
• Ability to advise senior government and corporate stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain target-state solution architectures for portfolio segments
• Evaluate technology adoption and implement standards through governance
• Lead portfolio rationalization and architecture governance
• Define architecture reference architectures, design patterns, and integration standards
• Lead architecture review boards and document durable decisions
• Serve as senior technical advisor translating strategy into cost, schedule, risk and impact
• Ensure data architecture alignment and data governance partnerships
• Translate cybersecurity and compliance needs into architecture patterns
• Identify emerging technologies and lead pilot efforts
• Establish reusable architecture assets and accelerators
• Mentor a community of solution architects across teams
• Define architecture measures and report portfolio health
• Guide service transition to high-availability operations
