Job summary

Talantir is seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Warehouse Engineer to design and deliver a scalable data platform for investment risk analytics and portfolio reporting. The role focuses on Snowflake optimization and robust data pipelines for high-volume financial datasets.

Collaborate with data architects, BI engineers, and data scientists to deliver reliable data solutions, implement ELT pipelines with dbt, and ensure data quality, governance, and performance across Snowflake workloads.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering or data warehousing experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience in production environments.
• Strong expertise with Snowflake Streams, Tasks, and Snowpipe.
• Expert-level SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning.
• Experience with ELT frameworks such as dbt.
• Experience building analytical data models (star schemas, fact tables, SCDs).
• Experience implementing CDC and incremental data pipelines.
• Experience with Git-based CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Snowflake data warehouse schemas and object lifecycle strategies.
• Develop dimensional and time-series data models supporting portfolio analytics and financial reporting.
• Build scalable ELT pipelines using dbt and Snowflake native features (Streams, Tasks, Snowpipe).
• Implement change data capture (CDC) and incremental processing frameworks.
• Optimize Snowflake performance through clustering strategies, micro-partitioning, and workload management.
• Develop and maintain high-performance tables, views, and materialized views.
• Establish data quality monitoring and reconciliation frameworks.
• Automate deployments and SQL transformations using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Document data models, lineage, governance controls, and operational procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production data pipeline issues
