Job summary

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a Privacy Compliance Specialist Sr to support the Office of the Chief Privacy Officer. You will advise on HIPAA compliance, perform risk assessments, and help develop privacy strategies across healthcare, academic and research missions.

The role requires strong knowledge of privacy laws, ability to lead projects, train staff, and collaborate with leadership to mitigate risks while protecting PHI in a complex academic medical center environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
6 years of healthcare privacy or compliance experience, with at least 4 years in information privacy and security.
Certification in compliance-related field or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Experience with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Advisory inquiries, projects and risk management activities.
Respond to information privacy and security inquiries with accurate guidance while maintaining compliance.
Serve as an expert resource for information privacy and security policies and regulations.
Provide program support for information privacy and security policy guidance; risk identification, assessment and management.
Tracks and monitors privacy program risks and develops mitigation strategies.
Provide education and training as assigned and in line with the Privacy training program.
