Job summary

EBI Consulting is seeking an experienced Sr Project Manager-PHIUS Certified Verifier to lead and grow our PHIUS verification services for multifamily new construction and substantial rehabilitation projects. This senior role combines building-science expertise with hands-on field experience and project management to deliver inspections, testing, and final certification across the Boston area and beyond.

The role offers remote or hybrid work options, with about 30% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, building science, construction management, environmental science, or related discipline.
• Active PHIUS Certified Verifier credential with Multifamily Designation required.
• Five+ years of experience in building science, energy efficiency, commissioning, or sustainability consulting; PHIUS experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple multifamily PHIUS projects through construction and final certification.
• Strong knowledge of high‑performance building enclosures, air barriers, insulation, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead PHIUS Certified Verifier for multifamily and large‑building projects; develop verification scopes, inspection and testing plans, budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and fee proposals.
• Review drawings, specifications, energy models, and certification documentation to identify requirements and risks; coordinate inspection milestones and deliverables.
• Conduct or supervise construction inspections and performance testing for enclosures, air barriers, insulation, HVAC, and related systems.
• Maintain QA workbooks, inspection records, and final certification submissions, including co‑requisite programs; resolve reviewer comments.
• Manage concurrent projects to achieve certification objectives within budget and schedule.
• Train and mentor staff, establish standardized delivery and QC procedures, and monitor PHIUS standard changes.
• Grow the service line through client relationships, proposals, and new market opportunities.
• Collaborate with sustainability team on related green-building programs.
