Job summary

Pondurance is seeking a Senior Security Consultant, Continuity and Compliance (QSA) to independently manage PCI DSS engagements and assess controls across client environments. You will produce high-quality assessment documentation and communicate findings to technical teams and executives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in information security compliance or 7+ years in related fields and holds an active PCI DSS QSA qualification. Remote US-based with some flexibility for Central/Eastern hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years in information security compliance, auditing, and assessments, or 7+ years in related security discipline.
• Current or recent PCI DSS QSA qualification with Pondurance affiliation or requalification.
• Experience independently leading ROCs for Level 1 merchants/service providers or similar complexity.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual PCI DSS compliance assessments including SAQs and ROCs.
• Act as PCI DSS subject-matter expert and advisor to clients.
• Assess client security programs, controls, and regulatory requirements for gaps and improvements.
• Develop remediation strategies aligned with regulatory requirements and client needs.
• Own engagements from initiation through final readiness of assessment deliverables.
• Conduct client interviews and workshops with executives and technical teams.
• Guide client policies, procedures, and controls to support compliance and risk management.
• Provide strategic guidance and professional judgment on complex client situations.
• Review work of other consultants and mentor PCI DSS interpretation and practices.
• Support engagements involving NIST, HIPAA, CMMC, or related frameworks as needed.
