Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Operations Research/Data Science professional to join the TRMC Big Data and Knowledge Management team. You will apply OR, ML, and data science methods to DoD test ranges and acquisition programs, turning large data sets into actionable insights for stakeholders.

This remote role requires an active TS/SCI clearance, an advanced degree in OR or a related field, and 12+ years of DoD experience, with travel up to 25% (potential surge to 50%) as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python and R for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience creating reproducible reports with notebooks (Jupyter) and RMarkdown.
• Experience with interactive visualization tools (RShiny, pyShiny, Dash).
• Ability to generate reports, visualizations and findings for customers.
• Experience with time series and geospatial data analyses.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux and containers; SQL proficiency.
• Ability to make data-driven recommendations and communicate results clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to present to large groups.
• Documentation of procedures and training end users.
• Self-motivated to design, develop and integrate software for data outputs.

Responsibilities

• Data Driven Analysis: support customers with insights from DoD data to enable data-driven decisions.
• Data Mining: develop models, access diverse data stores, implement workflows in Python or R.
• Analytic Experience: provide analytic consulting, promote best practices and user adoption.
• Customer-Facing Experience: ensure stakeholders have tools, data products and reports.
• Stakeholder Assistance: collaborate to define analytic requirements and questions.
• Communication: convey insights clearly to programmatic and technical audiences.
• Technical Support: operate CHEETAS and related tools; gather use cases; train end users.
• Independent Work: work with minimal supervision on diverse methods and models.
