Job summary

Systematix is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise routing, switching, WAN, SD‑WAN, and site connectivity. The role requires deep Cisco networking expertise and hands‑on experience with BGP, OSPF, VRF, VPNs, and cloud connectivity.

The successful candidate will contribute to resilient architectures across data centres, offices, WAN, and cloud environments, with on‑call rotation and collaboration across security, cloud, and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience designing and supporting complex enterprise networks.
• Deep knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VRF, route redistribution, route filtering, and routing policy.
• Extensive experience with Cisco IOS‑XE routers and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms.
• Strong experience designing and troubleshooting resilient WAN architectures.
• Experience with IPsec VPNs, Quality of Service, high‑availability architectures, and carrier circuits.
• Experience with network authentication and access technologies, including Cisco ISE, TACACS, RADIUS, and 802.1X.
• Experience with networking within Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Strong understanding of enterprise routing, switching, WAN, and network connectivity principles.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to diagnose complex network issues across multiple technologies and environments.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams, service providers, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and optimize enterprise routing solutions using BGP, OSPF, VRF, route redistribution, route filtering, and routing policies.
• Design, deploy, and maintain WAN, internet, colocation, and site connectivity across global locations.
• Engineer and troubleshoot IPsec VPN, Quality of Service, high‑availability, and cloud connectivity solutions.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco IOS‑XE routers and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching platforms.
• Support resilient enterprise routing and switching architectures across data centre, office, WAN, and cloud environments.
• Support SD‑WAN technologies and ongoing network modernization initiatives.
• Evaluate network performance and recommend improvements to availability, resiliency, scalability, performance, and supportability.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex routing, switching, WAN, VPN, and connectivity incidents.
• Participate in an on‑call support rotation as required.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, routing standards, configuration templates, operational procedures, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Network Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, Operations, service providers, and business stakeholders.
• Work with carriers and technology vendors to troubleshoot connectivity and service issues.
• Contribute to network automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
