Coinbase is a remote-first company with quarterly in-person surges. We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Platform Engineer to build foundational infrastructure for feature engineering, model training, and model serving across the organization.

You will own systems spanning streaming, distributed training, and high-availability inference services that shape ML scale at Coinbase. You will mentor engineers, improve production-grade software, and partner with ML teams on platform components

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience as a software engineer with distributed systems in production.
• Built and operated low-latency ML infrastructure (streams/serving) at scale.
• Mentored engineers to improve engineering quality via reviews.
• Familiar with ML platform components (feature stores, model serving, training orchestration).
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own design and reliability of ML inference infrastructure with high availability and low latency.
• Build and optimize low-latency streaming pipelines for fresh feature data.
• Improve distributed training infrastructure for efficient large-scale processing.
• Develop observability tooling to monitor data quality entering models.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise engineering standards across the team.
