Job summary

Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Senior Marine Cargo and Draft Surveyor for a remote contract. The role offers 10–40 hours per week with compensation of $20–$60 per hour.

You will review digital imagery and documentation related to container and cargo condition, assess draft marks, and prepare precise survey reports. The ideal candidate holds a Certificate of Competency or maritime academy certification, has proven experience in marine cargo and draft surveys, and can interpret imagery remotely

Qualifications

• Experience conducting marine cargo and draft surveys.
• CoC or maritime academy certification required.
• Proficiency in container and cargo condition surveys, marine measurement protocols and reporting to international standards.
• Ability to interpret imagery remotely with well-supported surveyor calls.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review digital imagery and documentation related to cargo condition at transfer points.
• Analyze vessel draft marks and tank gauges to determine cargo quantity and integrity.
• Prepare marine survey reports with findings and reasoning.
• Evaluate compliance with international marine survey standards in all deliverables.
• Provide feedback to refine AI data labeling and maritime decision-making processes.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project team and communicate insights.
