Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking an Inventory Control Sr. Financial Analyst in Dublin, CA to develop, enhance, and manage in-store inventory models and provide executive-level analyses.

The role reports to the Senior Manager, Inventory Control and supports ad-hoc inquiries for executives and business partners. The position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel/Word, and experience with back-end systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience in an analytical role.
• Retail and inventory experience a plus.
• Strong analytical ability – synthesize data, reconcile own work and design analyses to answer questions.
• Strong Excel and Word skills; ability to learn multiple back-end software applications (e.g., MicroStrategy, Hyperion, PeopleSoft).
• Ability to interact with all levels within the organization and handle matters professionally.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead updating and enhancing the weekly In-Store inventory model; gather inputs from sales, allocation metrics, and DC production.
• Prepare monthly Merchant Margin to Gross Margin variance analyses; identify drivers of variances.
• Perform complex ad-hoc analyses on inventory metrics (inventory, markdowns, sales) and articulate impacts to management.
• Collaborate with Store & DC Ops to drive understanding and improvement of operational metrics related to data integrity.
• Evaluate internal reporting and suggest improvements for timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy.
• Lead system projects, including requirements documentation and testing.
