Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group seeks a Sr. Hydro Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in mechanical design, fleet engineering, commissioning, and maintenance of hydro turbines and BOP systems across the US and Canada.

You will support mechanical assessments, troubleshooting, and asset performance optimization for client hydro assets. The role involves reviewing turbine designs, performing structural and hydraulic calculations, and leading commissioning and performance testing efforts, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 10+ years hydropower experience with turbine design/engineering.
• Experience in turbine commissioning and performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hydro turbine mechanical design (Francis, Kaplan, Pelton) and related components.
• Perform mechanical calculations for structural integrity, vibration, fatigue, and hydraulic loads.
• Oversee FEA/CFD analyses using ANSYS or similar software.
• Support condition assessments, uprates, refurbishments, and modernization projects.
• Prepare technical reports, specs, calculations, and drawings.
• Lead turbine commissioning activities and site testing.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, and controls teams on integrated design.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/ASME and relevant codes.
