Job summary

Encore Institute for Social Impact is seeking a Grant Strategist II to lead nonprofit clients through advanced grant-seeking strategy, program design, and funding systems. This senior advisory role requires independent client leadership, executive engagement, and success with complex funding opportunities.

You will manage a portfolio of clients, mentor junior staff, contribute to practice growth, and help shape annual and multi-year funding strategies with national and federal funders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-time grant development experience with success securing awards from complex funders.
• Experience managing complex proposal submissions from inception to award.
• Ability to design programs, multi-partner budgets, and evaluation plans using logic models.
• Understanding nonprofit finance, compliance, and sustainability principles.
• Proven ability to cultivate client partnerships at the executive level.
• Strong written and editing skills; openness to feedback.
• GPC certification is strongly preferred; willing to pursue within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic grant development for nonprofit clients and refine grant-seeking strategies.
• Research funders, assess alignment and viability across local to federal funding landscapes.
• Oversee end-to-end grant proposals, LOIs, and post-award reporting.
• Independently design new programs, multi-line budgets, and evaluation plans.
• Ensure submissions are compliant, competitive, and well-argued.
